The compatibility gotcha that catches most owners: Milgard changed its glass clamp jaw width between the 2016 and 2020 Essence production runs. A clamp from a 2018 install will not hold a 2021 lite properly unless the gasket channel is reworked, and forcing it will either crack the laminate at the edge or leave a panel that buzzes in a stiff breeze. Measure the glass thickness with a caliper before ordering anything. Essence panels are 8mm or 10mm tempered; Legacy panels run 6mm.
